TreeSprite - Jason Etienne

Description

By Jasmine Wheelright

As a working single mum I was concerned about staying connected to my growing children whilst away from them. From a young age my son has been able to navigate an iPhone and iPad. I was also concerned about someone not being to get hold of me in the event of an emergency or my children when they’re older and out on their own.

I therefore came up with the idea for an App that would be straightforward for both adults and children to use and would essentially be a ‘family organiser’ with multiple ‘members’. It would also contain and ‘sos’ function that could be programmed to contact multiple people and override the ‘silent’ function on a phone. The App will allow family members and caregivers to stay connected and will promote contact in an ever-increasing digital world. It will cater for a growing population with changing family structures and will stay relevant to families’ lives as they evolve.

Initially the App will be developed for ios for the iPhone in the UK, which will be a good test market. And will eventually allow for further development.

What makes this app so unique

  • Although this app is essentially centred around social media, there is literally nothing like this app on the market. Unlike Facebook, this app runs contrary to the flow of ever widening circles of friends and acquaintances. Although this app is inclusive, it's aim is to strengthen ties between family members or group of friends. It will act to keep members informed of the whereabouts of those closest to us and act as a companion and guide at the same time - personified by the TreeSprite app.
  • As Jasmine writes in our mission statement, " As a working single mum I was concerned about staying connected to my growing children whilst away from them. From a young age my son has been able to navigate an iPhone and iPad. I was also concerned about someone not being to get hold of me in the event of an emergency or my children when they’re older and out on their own.

  • We believe that TreeSprite will pave the way for next generation apps, and will be able to adapt and evolve with changing technologies and play a vital role in the future of changing family dynamics.
