TEXTS AND BOOKS ON THE AGE OF INFORMATION

Have you heard about Medium? The new network created by the same founders of Twitter.

When Twitter first started to be famous, I remember people still not very used to the short number of characters saying “well, I have more than 140 characters to say, so I can’t really express myself the way I would like”. Twitter never changed the number of characters, instead, it did something better: a network where it’s possible to share texts with some editorial quality.

Their users make an extra effort to write and share only texts that are really relevant and not just one more in the ocean of internet. And who writes texts in there? Well, people like Leonardo Di Caprio, for example (https://medium.com/@LeoDiCaprio).

It seems that we are living a moment in which people want to express themselves, getting information, but also doing that with more quality, considering the number of rubbish that it’s possible to see on internet nowadays.

Another app that promises to be great to authors and readers that want to have access to eBooks, writing, promoting and being paid by their books, is Fantasia Book – a network that makes writers and readers closer to each other.

The app got already lots of people interested in being part of its project: already 27 funders. But you still can be part of this project and get rewarded when the app completes its milestones, getting popular, just like Medium. We still have 41 days left to get all the funds it needs. Don’t miss the opportunity and become a funder too.

THE PERFECT MATCH

Everyone knows a couple that complete each other – one is the artist, the other one the mathematician. One dreams, the other one makes it true. She wonders about how the Universe behaves and looks like, he does the maths of the equations that she imagined. On the other hand, the mathematician does empty calculations without a reason, and the artist can foresee, just by imagining, what he’s up to, before he knows himself. Pretty good to have someone like this, isn’t it?

But for the rest of the population, how does it work? When you have a dream but not the skills to make it true? And how does it work when you have the skills but not the mind outside the box? Who would be there for you with such level of synchrony?

Finding someone that understands your idea and what you’re really talking about when you don’t even know how to explain it very well is more than a hard job, it’s a matter of luck. Regardless to the development of apps, that means the line between a basic work or the perfect marriage between imagination and real world.

Do you have an idea for apps but find hard to find a developer to make it? Have a look on our list of developers available, then someone can get engaged into your wildest dreams with all the advantages that being in a romantic relationship doesn’t give to you: sharing the revenues without the hard times.

And if you think that this post was way too romantic, then that’s because you are a mathematician/developer, and you should have a look at our projects. :)

CROWDFUNDING - WHEN ASKING IS BETTER THAN DEMANDING

Is the Crowdfunding changing the relationship between people, or the relationship between people is changing the way of making money? Both ways bring up a new moment in time when it’s possible not “to make” people paying for something, but to ask them, let them to decide to.

You know those situations when you tell someone “I was going to do what you wanted, but just because you demanded it from me, I don’t feel like doing anymore”? On this episode of Ted Talks series, Amanda Palmer, a Rock n’ Roll singer, tells her experience with couchsurfing, crowdsurfing and crowdfunding, and how giving to people the option to share made her change the status of an unsuccessful contract artist to a succcessful independent one. It’s inspiring.

Still talking about the new relationships between people and product, have you had a look on the project EON Market? It’s an easy trading way of access and benefit people that are around you. There are two roles of EON Market users: buyers and sellers. The seller offers items with their respective prices and descriptions on the Market, and the buyers who are nearby get informed about the offered items if they desire to.

We still have 156 left to get all the fund for this project, and you can be part of this very promising app, since the estimated number of downloads by owner is over 10 million! That means being well rewarded ($$$) for the trust you put on to it.

PrioritizeMe! THE RIGHT THINGS DONE FIRST

  • Monday 6 October 2014

“Never treat as priority someone/something that treats you like an option”. That’s what they say, especially on chats about relationships, isn't it? And they might be right. But on the daily basis, are you aware of the right priorities? Do you treat as priority the right things? Or do you postpone them?

The number of people that realized that life has more tasks than our abilities to manage all of them is only getting higher. And we know that because the number of devices on which the project PrioritizeMe! is currently installed is only increasing. Check it out:

PrioritizeMe! basically works as an assistant to help you to do all the tasks you have to. It’s a bit like your personal secretary. Have a look at the whole project here.

People using the app must be very happy on having their lives a bit more organized. The same with the project’s believers, that are celebrating the revenues of the year, noticing a potential average.

We also remember that funders are being paid already, because we know how to prioritize the right things. :)

WHO IS THE MAN BEHIND THE SUCCESSFUL APPS?

  • Friday 3 October 2014

Kids, you probably don’t know, but there was a moment in time when we used to listen to some songs on the radio, and when we liked it, we pressed the magical button “REC”, to have that song recorded into something called “tape”. Such strange times!

Another odd habit was listening to songs for the first time in a bar, and, if we liked it, we asked the dj “who is singing?”. In case of there’s no DJ there, we asked someone else, and if they didn’t know, well, that’s it: waiting until the universe puts this song on our way again.

Times have changed, and now, all we have to do is pointing our phones to the air to find out, with a little help of some app, who is singing and the name of that song. Pretty easy, isn’t it?

Last week, we saw the launch of a new kind of “date app” – Cuddler, that gives you the opportunity of finding strangers in town with whom you can have some time of intimacy, doing nothing but cuddling. -What? -Yeah, it seems crazy, but there it is – they made it!

Apps to discover songs, apps to cuddle with strangers, to call a taxi, to check the weather, to mix pictures of your face with your friends’ ones… But who is this new kind of man behind the successful apps? Well, the answer is simpler than a click

1. A man that dreams and go for it

We live now in a world in which the craziest ideas become an app. Our madness or daydreams can come true with a little help of technology, and the point here is the same old cliché about “trusting your dreams and go for it”. The new man behind the apps knows It’s all about confidence and trust in your intuition that something that you have in mind can be useful to the others, and this means to you being well rewarded ($$$) for your idea.

2. A man that can foresee the future and invest in the present

Imagine if we were in the past, before all of these successful apps have been created – we could look at their projects and shake our heads saying “cool, but who needs it?”. To be able to see value in something that still doesn’t exist, the man behind the apps looks to the future first, and imagine a world where these crazy dreams are true already.

Maybe you didn’t have the original idea for something, but you can be part of it, investing on its development, supporting with funds. Crowdfunding is the stock market of the future, but much more democratic, everyone is part of everything and shares the same.

3. A man with no frustrations

Projects and dreams they come and go, but you know that feeling of “Jaysus, I had this idea/I thought about supporting this idea before, and now they are fuc** rich, and I’m here with my wages”? well, the man behind the successful apps, he doesn’t know it, because he went for it.

Project of the day - Breadcrumbs

  • Thursday 2 October 2014
  • Be the first to comment

Have you seen the film Memento? The main character has a short-term memory problem and he needs to take Polaroid pictures of everything that he experiences, what can make a life quite difficult.

But this was 14 years ago (the film was made in 2000), before the phone age. Nowadays, you just take as many pictures as you want and keep them on your phone.

Apart from Memento, in other films, the police asks the classic question “where were you and what were you doing on… 12th july of 1986?”, and the characters always know, mainly, because they live in a film. In real life, if I ask you where were you 3 weeks ago at a particular time, would you be able to tell?

Breadcrumbs is a new idea for apps that allows you to create a trail of where you have been, making easier to remember or confirm places when you need to.

Why supporting:

. Become a pioneer - We are in the phone age. In a few years, everything we experience will be tracked. So don’t waste your chance of being engaged on this future in the first place.

. Bring something to people – The app can be a security option for parents and guardians, and the advantage is that it doesn’t track where you are, but only where you have been. It also can make life much easier for people with memory problems and diseases related to it. So if you have someone in your family that would be benefited by this idea (grandparents maybe?), do your donation and encourage other people.

. Make money – Think about those crazy ideas that you or your friends had but never went for it, and months later, you realized someone did it and now is making lots of money with that.

We have 62 days left to start to make it real. Access the project here.
