Nollie is a topic based social networking app. Now I know what you are thinking :::sigh:::: Another social networking app.. Yes! Another Social Networking app. Lets be real, I dont even consider Facebook a social networking app anymore. What Facebook has become is a big, convoluted wall of memes, baby pctures, bit strips and people posting their dirty laundry. Whatever happened to people having real discussions about topics they actually have interest in and being connected with other likeminded users that share the same interests? Why should users that simply want to discuss topics they are passionate about with other users be left out in the cold and forced to use outdated, ugly .com forums and message boards?

Welcome to Nollie. Within Nollie users will have an array of topics to choose from. Topics include but not limited to Politics, Religion, Stocks, Sports, Cars, Movies, Anime, Travel, The Great Outdoors, Dating, Video Games,Current Events among many others. The goal with Nollie is to not only have one unified platform for many users with various interests to connect with and chat with other users, but also equally important is user experience. I strive for a sleek, beautiful tile based platform, each topic will be beatuifully represented by a picture in tile format. The look and flow I am going for is similiar to Windows based phones and Netflix.

Its very simple. Users will simply launch Nollie, select the topic they wish to discuss and instantly they will be directed to a live comments wall where they can see comments from other like minded users and post their own comments, reply to and/or like (or dislike other user comments.) and discuss the topic of choice with other users that share the same interests.

Now here is the twist. No user uploaded pics will be allowed on the live comments wall. I do not want the comments wall be littered with bitstrips, memes, personal pics etc. That is what Facebook is for. This will be a platform of discussion and debate. This platform will be for users that want to discuss certain topics with other users of similiar interests. You might be wondering if thats the case, how will ads appear..

Now the business aspect.. Since Nollie will be a topic based social networking platform, advertisers will be able to advertise their products to individuals they will know have a general interest in their product. For example, when a user chooses the fitness topic, think ads from the likes of Nike, GNC, UnderArmour etc. Video games topic? Think ads from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo.

Ads will be displayed in between the time it takes for a user to choose their topic and being directed to the live comments feed, that way the comments wall will remain sleek and will not be bombarded by ads. This will be huge for companies that wish to advertise products to a targeted audience and the fact Nollie is divided up by various topics, companies can now pinpoint who to advertise to based on what topic the user will choose.
